It's a changing world, and soon it will become a homogeneous world. I don't much care for that idea, so I'm trying to see different cultures and unspoiled lands while they still exist. Along the way I'll be snapping photos for the world to enjoy.
I have been an avid photographer for many years and have a considerable collection of imagery taken from around the world. I believe my work is unique, whether the photos comes from Asia or my back yard. It's all about seeing Something to shoot in Anything you see.
Running a small web design business for the past ten years has been beneficial to my work in photograhpy. Allowing me to bring an extensive background in graphic design and image manipulation (in addition to web development) all of which can be of great use in post production and presentation of my imagery. I have a "snap shot" philosophy which is to keep moving and put yourself into new and interesting places to see what shows itself. Oddly enough, many of my best shots come from a simple pocket camera instead of my "big gun". I suppose that is not so odd at all, since the best shots are not always planned but are often stumbled upon.
I invite you to take a moment to view my photography gallery. It covers a wide variety of subject matter from “day in the life” imagery to landscapes and architecture. The "Fine Art" collections are chosen not only for image quality and artistic merit, but on the subject matter. "Is this something that I would want on my wall?" The "Photo Journalism" collections were chosen as representative work more suitable for newspapers, magazine articles, brochures and books.
I hope you enjoy browsing my gallery,
Gene Tewksbury
